As your councilman for the last eight years I have worked tirelessly to provide you with the leadership you demand. I have worked hard to put the lid on property taxes.

• Supported the 2% Tax circuit breaker and the direct tax relief credits in both ’05 and ’06.
• Supported the New Harbor development plan bringing new houses and businesses to East Chicago.
• Supported tax abatements for Major Industry with their commitment to reinvest billions which will result in lower property taxes. This puts money back in your pockets to pay for food, medicine, or education.

As a sworn member of the Police Department for the last 19 years including being Assistant Chief
I have worked tirelessly for your safety.
• Allocated monies for overtime patrol putting more cops on the streets during peak crime hours.
• Fitted officers with new technology to catch criminals faster. Supported new lights and cameras throughout the city to make us safer.
• Hired 18 new officers in the last two years and plan to hire more. I have demonstrated a commitment to your safety and will continue to work hard to make our city as safe as it possibly can be.
